Course Overview

Digital literacy refers to an individual's ability to source, understand and communicate information through typing and other media on a variety of digital platforms. Examples of digital literacy include sending an email or using word processing documents such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. From January to December 2022, there were 16,163 unique job postings in the United Kingdom with digital literacy listed as a required skill. A 2019 report showed 82% of job advertisements listed digital literacy as a required skill.

Digital literacy has established itself as a workplace non-negotiable skill.

This online digital literacy course is aimed at anybody who wants to develop knowledge of accessing and using digital information. Learners will understand the importance of digital literacy in all areas of modern life including at home, in the workplace and for society as a whole.
